DNA Pair of Earrings

Click on the pictures they get bigger!

Price: SOLD!

I think it goes without saying that we all know I LOVE these earrings. They are definitely not the original idea for the DNA earrings I had in my ever ambitious mind but they are adorable. Also, most people won’t understand what they are, so they can act as a conversation piece or a way to weed out the people you DON’T want to talk to. hahaha. OK, enough of that. These nucleotide pairs are on the same earring post instead of being side by side because since they will be seen basically independently of one another, it didn’t make sense to have the matching bases be on either side. OK, enough rambling about why the pairs are where they are……

Originally I was attempting my hand at some serious wire work for these. I wanted the nucleotide pairs to be side by side (as they should be) within a double helix wire structure. I don’t have the right wire or I don’t have right hands, either way it didn’t happen as I was planning. So these came into being. They are made from letter beads and a pretty black metal star-burst charm hanging from the bottom. I will continue to try and make the double helix because eventually it has to work, right??

What a huge explanation for a small pair of earrings, I can’t help it, the dork in me just wrote this post.

Just for illustration of what a total dork I am, here is a photo from my 365 project; this is where I am sitting now and every time I am on my computer this is my view.

Back to business…..

25% of the proceeds of this sale will go to Lymenaide!!

Size: almost 2 inches long

Color: Black and Silver

Material: Metal wire, Metal Charm and Plastic Beads

Pink Star Charm Bracelet

Click on the pictures they get bigger!!

Price: $15.00 (USD) includes shipping

This pink and silver charm bracelet has some upcycled components, yay!!! I hope Ashley reads this and is proud of me 🙂 There are two silver charms in addition to the silver an pink beads delicately dangling off of the double bracelet chain. There is a think chain with large links and running in between that chain is a smaller dainty chain which gives it a great very dimensional look. This is probably my favorite piece so far and I hope it goes to a very good home!

Size: approximately 9 inches

Color: Silver and Pink

This letter-writing campaign was started as a means of spreading awareness about the plight of Lyme patients and the appalling inequality they must deal with when it comes to receiving diagnosis and treatment.” – Letters for Lyme

There is a huge issue about the diagnosis and treatment of Lyme Disease. This campaign is taking this issue head on. Organizing people to send letters to celebrities, newpapers, government officials and others is a great way to try and be heard. The more noise we make the more people will notice us.

We can only accomplish anything by uniting and doing everything together as a huge group. There is also a specific date which the letters should arrive at the addressed(expanded information on website). I think we will make a larger impact this way. I myself and sending out all the traditional snail mail letters in lyme green envelopes(this is the link to where I purchased mine: http://www.envelopesexpress.com/products/view/E273); I will also be sending a copy of it via email. I think if everyone can send some snail mail letters it will be much more powerful than a bunch of emails which can just be deleted or thrown in the junk mail/spam folder.

To find out why this campaign is necessary be sure to read this link: http://januarylettersforlyme.blogspot.com/p/why-this-campaign-is-necessary.html

AND SPREAD THE WORD!!!

“We are set to take the world by storm this January 28th. Stand ready and prepare to speak your mind. Take a moment to help lead us towards equal patient rights.” – letters for lyme
